Head Trainer: Hubs Tong (皓博)

Hubs is the Head of Academic and Lead Tutor at MQ Coffee Lab, with 10+ years of hospitality leadership and specialty coffee expertise, he combines practical experiecen with structured academic knowledge in his course delivery. As an Authorised SCA Trainer, he is certified to teach globally recognised Barista, Brewing, Sensory, and Roasting programmes, developing New Zealand’s next generation of skilled coffee professionals.

Shintaro Tanaka

Originally from Japan, Shintaro has over a decade of experience in specialty coffee. As an SCA-certified Q Grader with advanced training in sensory analysis and coffee brewing, he specializes in pour-over coffee, sensory development, and coffee education. His teaching focuses on helping students build practical brewing skills while developing a deeper understanding of flavour, aroma, and coffee quality.
