This course explores espresso extraction, recipe development, grinder behaviour, milk technique, latte art, workflow, sensory evaluation, drink construction, customer service, and café operations.

It is a practical, interactive course for baristas who want to stop guessing and start making informed decisions — from dialling in espresso to managing service, milk, waste, and customer experience.

  • Build confidence in dialling in espresso by understanding how dose, grind texture, shot time, brew ratio, extraction, strength, and water quality interact.
  • Taste espresso more analytically by exploring how different compounds extract at different stages of the shot.
  • Improve practical bar skills including dosing, distribution, tamping, shot consistency, workflow, and equipment layout.
  • Explore milk composition, foam quality, milk alternatives, steaming temperature, texture, latte art, and drink construction.
  • Learn how to prepare multiple drinks efficiently while maintaining SCA drink standards.
  • Strengthen customer service skills, including menu explanation, customer interaction, service recovery, and complaint handling.
